Lift Installation Oxford, situated in the Dickson Poon University of Oxford China Centre Building on the St Hughs College Campus.
This unique building needed a unique Lift Installation, The Scenic Glass lift forms the central core of a spiral staircase and runs 5 floors up to a roof terrace located in its own free standing structural steel construction which forms the actual lift shaft and means all the workings for the lift are on show for all to see. The building was designed by David Morley Architects, the £21 million China centre extends over 5 floors. £10 million was contributed by Sir Dickson Poon who alongside Prince William opened the centre which is hoped will become the leading centre for the study of China anywhere in the western world.
